Civil engineering jobs in UK

Dear friends,
I am new to this group... I have got HSMP approval in the month of july08 and also i have applied for EC on 12/11/2008 with the help of ur forum and awaiting for visa stamping...

Initially, I want to now the job oppurtunities for Structural engineers (civil) in UK....
I have done my B.tech in civil engg and Mtech in structural engineering from IIT Roorkee and having 3+yrs of work experience in the field.

Secondly, help me finding a job from my homeland(India) and please give me some consultancy details for job search.

Dear friends,

I feel that there no civil /structural engineers in this forum who are working in there core fields. Bcos I am not getting proper feed back on structural engineering jobs in UK...
Anybody help me....plz

hi i thisnk there aree jobs in civil engineering projects at the moment but like everything dependson yur experience and also if you are in theuk it is much bettr to apply because you can make the interviews aND meet agents at short notizce. Try looking on specialised job sites such as http://www.civilengineeringjobs.co.uk

The industry is struggling at the moment. Atkins, Motts, WYG, Arup, Mouchel, Halcrow etc.. have alid off staff...or are in the process of downsizing

It is hard out there at the moment!

Most of the Engineering Jobs I have heard about are based in the middle east... Have you tried looking there?
