Apply for naturalization with passport expire soon

Hi, I want to apply for naturalization for my child, but her passport will expire soon. Will it affect naturalization? For the time I will apply the passport will be still active (expire in a couple of months).

There's no category for naturalized children on DFA website, but adult one does expect foreign passport; I would expect it's needed but it's an assumption based on limited information. Will child still be a minor after 2 years?

If you're considering whether or not to renew your child's passport, I would certainly advise to do so before it expires. It's usually more of a hassle to renew a passport when last one has expired and child will be stuck in the country for 2 years (average citizenship processing time) waiting for a decision.
