British Citizenship for Tier 2 dependent visa

Post by Ama2020 » Thu Sep 28, 2023 11:16 pm

Dear members,
I am looking for real advice, I came here as a Tier 2 skilled worker in 2016 with my family and got my ILR status in 2021 only as my wife didn’t pass her B1 and life in the UK test, the home office refused to give my kids ILR status with me and advised me to extend my children tier 2 dependent visa with their mom till the end of 24.
I have three of my kids who were born in the UK and are now under the tier 2 dependent visa.
As I got my British citizenship now, can I apply for citizenship for my kids who were born here or do I have to apply for ILR first at the end of 24 then the British citizenship?

Please Advise

Thanks in advance

You could have applied for the UK born children as soon as you got ILR. They do not need a valid visa if they are UK born as they have an entitlement to register as British once either parent is granted ILR.
