Parentage DNA test

Post by Esslin1222 » Fri Nov 10, 2023 7:21 am

Hello
I’m here for asking yo all this question. Becouse, next week, my best friend received a paper from unknown person. Saying that her dad isn’t her real Dad. So, she was amazing for that sitution. Then, wanted to ask about it to his parent but still afraid. So, she decided to do a <Third party link removed by Mod>. Right now, she’s waiting for the result.

Is that possible?

Thanks

Third party links will be removed!

Can you be a bit more specific about this issue?
Immigration status of persons involved, etc. Hearsay is just that.

If the person is planning to claim British citizenship by descent through a British citizen parent, it is not as straightforward as a DNA test.

A lot will depend on the date (just the month/year will do) that they were born, as different laws and rules applied at different times.

Also British citizenship at any time after birth is never automatic.

Also, if the parentage were via sperm donation via a sperm bank, again there will be legal limitations to being able to claim British citizenship.

So a mere DNA test is meaningless. And without further information, we really can't provide much advice.
