Skilled Worker Visa - IHS Paid

Post by SMB10 » Fri Dec 01, 2023 7:17 pm

Hi All,

I have just made a payment for the IHS health surcharge and thought that the maintenance requirement doesn't needs to be fulfilled up until biometric appointment. Before making the payment, I just had another glance and found out that the maintenance funds needs to be maintained before making the application.

Can anyone please clarify following two points,

A) Do we have to wait up until the funds have been in an account for 28 days before making the visa application?

B) If yes, is it ok that I have already paid the health surcharge and have to wait another 2 weeks before paying for the visa fee and completing the application?

Why have you paid the IHS in advance?

It is a step in the online visa application process? You don't pay it separately.

IHS is only IHS. It is not the visa application date.

Thank you for the quick response, I haven't paid the IHS separately. It was part of an online application process. Once I completed the payment the portal took me to pay the visa fee but instead of paying the fee I clicked on return to application later.

Now my question is whether to wait for 2 more weeks so that my i fulfil the requirement for the maintenance funds?

You need to apply when you meet the maintenance fund requirements. The critical date is the date you submit and pay online, which is the date of application.

Thank you.

Makes sense.
In this case the gap between the IHS payment and visa application will be about 2 weeks. Would that be problem?
