Hello,

After 9 months waiting I got the HSMP approval letter...

My details are:

Application sent: 26th June 2004
Applicatioin recieved: 28th June 2004
Payment: no payment (country (Romania) is exempt)
Points claimed: 65pts. (Education 25pts., Experience 25pts., Skilled spouse 5pts., Age 10pts.).
Ref.Num: 21xxx
Urgent treatment sent : 5th April 2005
(After 12th of June was posted on the website, I called HSMP to ask about my application - I was told that the file has not been processed yet, and because the date posted is after my received date I should fax in an "urgent treatment" request, stating that the date posted on the website is after my date. So I did so.)
Called again to HSMP: 20th April 2005. I was told my application was processed. Papers were sent in 8th April 2005, and the decision was successful. Points awarded: 65.
Documents received by mail: 22nd April 2005

Thank you all for your help!
Good luck to everyone!

Regards,
A.

HO confirmed via email that my case was to be considered via email that my case would be treated on urgent basis the day after i sent the urgent file. it was a long wait indeed 35 weeks, if it was not for the job offer i would still be waiting. Good luck to all those waiting especially my fellow June - Nov 2004 crowd, dont lose hope

april applicant

Post by chivdog » Thu Jun 23, 2005 10:48 am

here's my timeline:

1. 8 April 05 - couriered application from Australia
2. 12 April 05 - received by HO (7 days before my 28th birthday)
3. 20 April 05 - application received back from HO with problems relating to credit card payment
4. 21 April 05 - resent entire application with a banker's draft and took a photocopy of the front page (which was date stamped as received at 12 April)
5. 25 April 05 - received by HO
6. 29 April 05 - banker's draft cleared
7. 10 May 05 - contact HO requesting ref no. advised by charging team that payment had cleared and application was being sent to charging team that day.
8. 20 May 05 - requested ref. no by email to HO, ref. no given on the same day by return email together with confirmation that application received by HO on 29 April 05.
9. 20 May 05 - telephoned and emailed HO asking them to ensure that original receipt date (12 April) was recorded on their system as the date the application was received by them. Confirmation received on the same day from the HSMP Team that my application would be treated as under 28 application.
10. 15 June 05 - contacted HSMP Team by email requesting that they return my original docs so that I could arrange my affairs before departure in mid August and potentially apply for a different visa.
11. 16 June 05 - reply by email from HSMP team saying that my application was being given urgent treatment, and another email saying that my application, cover letter and cv had been lost. Scanned and emailled copies of each of these documents. Email received confirming that my application had been sent to a caseworking team.
12. 22 June 05 - Letter of approval (dated 16 June 05) and all original documents received from HSMP team - no prior email confirmation of any decision being made.

Persistance (and not patience) is a virtue.

I claimed 90 points (15 degree, 35 experience, 5 under 28, 10 spouse, 25 salary and wages). I was borderline on salary but I claimed it anyway relying on fluctuations in the exchange rate. Also I supplied a suite of documents relating to funds available, job prospects, efforts made to obtain employment, accommodation etc.

Good luck.

Urgent guidence required

Post by djshaz » Mon Jun 27, 2005 9:25 am

Dear friends,

I want to apply for hsmp for which i have completed my documentaion & stuff now just need to send the application to the right address. I have some concerns about it, please someone help me out on the following:

1- What is the correct address to send the application?
2- Can i send my application + documents through any courier service?
3- How they returns the documents along with their decision letter?
4- I want to use the photostate copies for most of my documents which are now attested and notorized as well, just because of a fear of document loss. Can I use the copies? Would it effect on my hsmp approval?
5- How can i protect and recevied back all my orignal documents while sending to hsmp team?
6- Can I take my wife with me after receiving hsmp approval? (I am not claiming any point on her behalf).

I shall highly appriciate your reply.

Thank you

1- What is the correct address to send the application?
It's in the manual.
2- Can i send my application + documents through any courier service?
Yes, but some of them don't send to PO Box. I used FEDEX and it worked just fine.
3- How they returns the documents along with their decision letter?
Havent got mine yet, but I think they just return it by regular airmail to your address (from the application). Theoretically there is an option of arranging a courier to pick up your documents, practically it doesnt always work.
4- I want to use the photostate copies for most of my documents which are now attested and notorized as well, just because of a fear of document loss. Can I use the copies? Would it effect on my hsmp approval?
I wouldnt do that if I were you. Please see the latest news abt HSMP on the HO website.
5- How can i protect and recevied back all my orignal documents while sending to hsmp team?
I guess most applicants revieve all their documents back, but there's no way to ensure 100%.
6- Can I take my wife with me after receiving hsmp approval? (I am not claiming any point on her behalf).
I have the same question (pls see my last topic).

Cover letter

Post by djshaz » Mon Jun 27, 2005 4:20 pm

How long should be the cover letter of HSMP? Should it be very detailed one e.g. explaining your last qualification and current job in detail and skills also?

Please reply soon

Provisonally approved

Post by Benadie » Thu Jun 30, 2005 7:30 pm

HI

I got word from my agent that may application has been provisonally approved! They unfortunately misplaced my original qualification certificates and only have the notarised copies that I sent with. I have sent them duplicates of the originals today and then the caseworker will sign the final approval.

Happy days. Hope to go for EC in next two weeks if I receive approval letter in time.

Good luck to all

Whole Appplication returned to me due to CC problem: May 10

Nope, didnt ask for urgent treatment, but my application was pretty straight forward and I work in an 'area in need' position, so that couldve helped. My income was earned in the UK over the past year, and Ive worked in the UK on a Working Holiday Maker Visa for the past two years. Got my passport back today, pretty much 4 weeks since I sent it off.
Good luck to everyone applying!!!

How to prove your job is graduate level?

Post by bunytu » Tue Aug 09, 2005 1:17 pm

Hi, I have self assessment like this. And I have been working for 2 years as Industrial Engineer, and 2 years as Business Manager in Inward investment, completely irrelavant ones. Does it matter?

How to prove my job is graduate level? I have UK Master's degree by the way.

Thanks.
