Spousal visa extension - when to apply

Hello, please I need help clarifying when to apply for my husbands spousal visa extension.

Visa issued : 21st dec 22
Entered UK: 21st Jan 23
BRP expires: 28 dec 24

Howeverrrr gov.uk shows that he has right to work in the uk until 25th September 25. Does this mean that we have until sep 25 to apply? Or we need to apply ASAP before BRP expiration?

All BRP cards expire end of December 2024 as a new e-visa system is being rolled out.

He should only apply within 28 days before reaching 2.5 years from date of entry to the uk to avoid a shortfall for ilr after 5 years. Rhe latest he can apply is rhe date his current visa expires is 2025.

Ah I see thank you! Is there anything we need to do once the brp expires to get the e-visa?
