##### Filing skill migration for Australia and moving #####

Post by fahad77 » Thu Feb 05, 2009 7:25 pm

Hi Folks,

I'm currently in USA and soon going to file for skill migration (175) for Australia. My question is what If I move to another country after I file my application and while my application is pending, does it make any difference? Do I need to let Aus Immigration know that I'm moving because I think It will depend where I will go for an interview later?

Thanks a lot in adv.

Fahad

You should intimate any changes to your current residence and contact details until your application is finalised.

It doesn't affect your application even if you move out of your current country of residence.

Hope this helps!

Thank for the reply thinker but let me clarify with you a bit more: If I file my application right now while i'm in USA and in few months I move to another country while its pending and I let Australian immigration know of my new address, I should be okay?

One more question: Is it true that my spouse has to appear for an IELTS exam as well even though I will be the main applicant and I'm not claiming any points for my wife's education and experience?
Thanks a lot

You will be ok ifyou move to another country, but you must send in a Change in Circumstances form in order to notify DIAC about your change in address.

If your wife doesnt take the test, then you will have to pay an extra installment.

Also, if you stay in that country for more than 3 months you will require a police certificate from there...

Thats good to know, thanks Jeff. Also it reminds me that I still need to get a police certificate from my local police station to send along with my file.
