Post by theonlyandlonely » Tue Feb 17, 2009 3:43 pm

Dear All,

I am going to UK in April already got approval for EC (T1 Gen). Is there any specific arrangement I need to make while going to UK (1st time entry). For example;

1) Some money/amount to show
2) Any Sort of Documents
3) Address for UK
4) Anything else ........

Please respond ASAP.

Thanks.

1) Some money/amount to show
Dont need to show any but u need them to live in UK in hand till u setup ur bank account
2) Any Sort of Documents
Better keep all the docs handy at the immigration in UK, who knows what the IOfficer will ask
3) Address for UK
YES, u need to fill in the form at Immigration n the officer can also ask

4) Anything else ........
Get a medical report of the TB test which u can get done in one of the laborartories at home this will definetley save 2-3hours of ur time at airport

Thanks for prompt reply.

Ok, I need to have some money in hand for initial setup.

1) What Form I need to have and what information is required to fill that form?

2) I will be coming from US to UK, do I still need to have medical report of Tb in hand?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have just got my tier visa stamped today. Is there any time period in which I have to fly from now? I asked them to give me Visa, valid from the month of May, but they have given me one starting from feb end.
Right now I am not prepared to go.
Will it be ok of I fly after 1-2 months or more?

It depends on how long have you been in US, and what was your last visit to a country in the their TB hitlist.

If they want, they would screen you right at the airport, free of charge. It took only 15-20 mins in my case. Note, I was travelling from India.

Thanks for the feedback.

I was in the country (included in TB List) in Last October. i.e. so about 5 months back.

Please comment on this.

Thanks.

Yes you can. There is no such rule that one must travel immediately after the visa is stamped.
