Impact of Earned Citizenship

Post by ravib_10 » Thu Mar 18, 2010 7:15 pm

Hi,

I am in UK on TIER 1 General visa.
I will be completing my 5years in UK and eligible for ILR on March 2012.

But Rule of Earned Citizenship is expected to get implemented around July 2011.

I would like to know whether I would get impacted because of this or not?

Thanks n Regards
R B

We have a General Election this year so anything could happen, depending whether we have a change of Government. No one can advise 100% , or even know the full implications of the new Citizen's Bill and Probationary Citizenship which is intended to replace the present ILR.
Even qualified Immigration advisors will be reluctant to advise on this at this stage.

Oh My God what was that? :D

@CASA do you belive conservatives would make immigration easier then Labour.Government has published date that is July 2010 for new rules.

So this is most authentic date .

I am 100% on that..

If somebody else belive something else then what can I do?

July 2011 for the implementation of the full Citizen's Bill.
This isn't the forum for political discussion but for the record I haven't given any indication whether a change of Government (remember there are more parties in the UK than Labour and the Conservatives) would be for the better or not.
