Scanned copy of P60 for ILR - is that an Issue

Post by krishna186 » Mon Apr 12, 2010 1:30 pm

Hi All,

Appreciate if you can help me . I am with a Indian Software house working in the UK since 2005 on work permit till May 2008 and moved to Tier -1 from May2008 valid till May 2011. I am due for my ILR later part of this year . But the issue is my employer issues me only a P60 scanned copy by email. Would that suffice for ILR PEO appointment ? Please advise .

Cheers,

This would not be considered as Original Documentation, which is what the HO ask for.

Why can you not get a P60 in paper format instead?

I think you'll be fine, you can tell the caseworker that you were only provided with the scanned copies by your employer. I don't think they'll have any problem as if there's any doubt they can always cross check with HMRC.

Also, for your peace of mind you can call your local tax office (contact number can be obtained from HMRC website) and ask them to send you your tax summary for the period and include that in your ILR documents.

Good Luck! :)

Hello Krishna!!

I was on the same boat as you....guess you are part of exp cert. :-)

You can get your P60 singed by HR and they do not have any problem doing that. Alternatively, you can ask for your NI details from HMRC and that is valid with HO.

FYI: I provided both scanned copy with HR signature and HMRC letter.

Thank you all. I shall try to get p60 signed by HR and also seek to get a HMRC letter with my NI details.

Hi krishna,

I wud say to get letter from your employer in absence of original Form p60 confirming the dates you were employed and salary you were getting. This is what i did as my employer refused to give me duplicate p60 and visa officer was very keen on seeing the continuity of my employment if i have worked for more than 1 employer. She asked me letter showing my previous employment. she said it could be either p60/salary slip / letter.

employer Letter along with HMRC letter will cover you all well..

I was on work permit/tier 2.

Deep..

Hi Deep,

I would be able to get a letter from employer stating the day of entry into UK ( in 2005 ) and my current annual Salary and also stating that I would be needed in the UK for next 12 months as well. I have requested HMRC fo my Tax Summary for last four years as well. I hope I would be covered. I was on work permit from 2005 to 2008 and moved to TIER1 in 2008 which is valid till 2011. However I have been with the same Indian software house on deputation since 2005.
also stating that I would be needed in the UK for next 12 months as well
Why needed for only 12 months.. This will be indication to homeoffice that you are only required for 12 months and you are going to be jobless after that.. if possible you have to get this 12 months removed.

Sorry but if i was you, i will request 2 letters one confirming your previous dates and other one about your requirement for future..because these are 2 different requirement. This is just my opinion..

Deep..

FYI I got ILR with scanned copy of P60 for all the 5 years....they were just printouts on plain a4 paper. Case worker was happy with them.....
