Proof of relationship...

Post by Applepie1987 » Fri Oct 22, 2010 1:00 am

Hi,

I need letters from family or friends that will help establish the proof of relationship.Do you know where i could find any sample letters so that I could get a better clue of what my relatives should be writing in this letter..

Thanks

See also evidence that's acceptable for unmarried partners.

Letters from friends or family about your relationship are weak evidence. Don't you have pictures and proof of contact like emails/letters/phone records?
I tell it like it is.

Yes I have all those evidence but we also wanted to put in some letters from friends that our relationship is true and we live together

If you have documentary proof that you're living together in a relationship 'akin to marriage'...i.e bills, joint finance, tenancy or mortgage etc, you won't need the friends/family letters. These won't carry much weight (if any) as evidence.

Yes, as long as they cover the full 2 years without any obvious long gaps.

The OP hasn't stated that he intends to apply for an unmarried partner visa, so this might not necessarily apply. If he's applying for a spouse visa then only a few months of evidence might be necessary.
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.

Dawie, well spotted. I assumed UPV application as the OP didn't comment on Vinny's link for Unmarried Partners.
