I have recently discovered I need proof of right to work in the UK although i have never had to provide before and have lived in the UK since i was 9 months old and was schooled here I have worked since working age but now when looking for a new job am being asked for evidence I don't have I have looked at the ukba website and can get a status letter but I need my mothers birth certificate and expired passport I cannot get hold of these any help would be appreciated.

i am 28 and my mum is living in leeds last i knew but we are not in contact and she has not responded to my letters asking for the documents .
