Possible to apply for Tier 1 General from the Isle of Man?

Hi all,

Isle of Man is in the common travel area so I am wondering if I can (like with T1 PSW) travel to the UK and make an application for Tier 1 general.

But why not apply from mainland UK, if you have Tier 1 (PSW) or leave to enter / remain in a category that allows you to switch to Tier 1 (General)?

Why do you wish to travel to a "Common Travel Area", and not the UK .. to apply?

I'm not ex IMHES, I have Tier 1 General for Isle of Man (they have their own but similar immigration controls). It's (T1G) obviously not a category you can switch from. Any ideas on what I can do?
