Applying 3-4 months after ILR 1 yr completed?

My details:
5 yrs continuous (wp) + 1 yr ILR.
Date of ILR granted: 1st Feb 2010.
Date I can apply for BC: on or after 2nd Feb 2011 or maybe 1st Feb 2011.

Due to some work reasons, was not in UK during the month Jan/Feb 2011 (not exceeded more than 90 days out of UK)

Am planning to apply in May/June 2011 for BC so that do not have to face any problems showing my stay in UK.

Is it still OK to apply later ie after few months from the date my ILR 1 yr rule applies. or does it has to be near by the date ie 2nd Feb 2011?

The time will be counted backwards 6 yrs (1 yr ILR and 5 yr WP) from the month when I apply for BC, did I understand this correct?

If applied in MAY 2011 then it would be:
1yr ilr : May 2011 - May 2010 (even i got my ilr in Feb 2010)
last (5th) yr of WP: May 2010 - May 2009
4th yr of WP: May 2009 - May 2008
3rd yr of WP: May 2008 - May 2007
2nd yr of WP: May 2007 - May 2006
1st yr of WP: May 2006 - May 2005.

Experts (including BattleyKhan) Please correct me where I am going wrong.

ILR means Indefinite you can apply ur bc after how ever many years after doesn't matter. ILR is not a 1 year visa

As KDS says, as long as you retain your status of indefinite leave to remain, there is no time pressure as such: you could hold ILR for 25 years and then decide to apply if you wanted to.

Of course, and as a side issue – all else being equal, it's wise to apply earlier rather than later if you see the UK as your home, since one never knows when the rules might change again (although there's no particular talk of that at the moment).
