UK ANCESTRY - ILR - PLS HELP

Post by jason77 » Wed Jun 08, 2011 10:26 am

I received my 4 year ancestry visa in 2004. Subsequently i got an additional 5 year visa. I qualified for ILR in 2009 but did not apply because of funds. My questions I need help on are.

1. Should i wait until this 5 year visa expires in 2013 before applying for ILR or can i do that now?
2. My days out of the UK are well over the required number of days. I think 300 due to an illness that required me to be around my family as i had lost my job due to the recession

What are my chances of success on this one.

PLEASE PLEASE HELP

1. As long as there is no gap between the ancestry EC and the "additional visa" (FLR?) you can apply now. In fact it's probably wise to do it asap before the settlement rules change.

2. 300 days since 2004 or in the past 5 years?

Thank u jager. This mid 2009 to dec 2010 break. Including other short breaks prior to that.

I was economically active during the 5year qualifying period and have all the documents in order for that. It is only after the 5 year qualifying period tjat has the big gap. Would this cause a problem for me.PLEASE ANY ADVISE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
