Applying US Tourist visa from UK - Indian passport holder

Hi all,

I am an Indian passport holder holding UK Tier - 1 visa valid until Sep 2013.
I wish to apply for US Tourist visa (B2) from UK.
I read in the US visa site that I need to apply from my home country. Often the visa gets rejected from UK on the grounds that the applicant doesn't have strong ties with UK?
Just for applying US visa do i need to travel to india. Secondly i dont have any income in india. All my earnings are in British Pounds. So my employer reference, salary slips , Bank statements will all be related to UK. The only document related to India would be my House / Flat documents.
I am a bit confused here. Is there a way out?
Can't I apply from UK itself?

can you post the link to the page that says you cannot apply from the UK. I for one have applied whilst on the old HSMP

you should be able to apply and get visa.

One of my friend holding Indian Passport has applied from UK and got 10 years of Business Visitors Visa (B1).

I hope you have a permanent job in UK.

INTERESTING POINT RE: PERMANENT JOB....WHAT IF YOU ARE SELF-EMPLOYED?
