Wrong Nationality Mentioned on OCI Card

Wrong Nationality Mentioned on OCI Card

Hi All,

I collected my OCI card yesterday and there is a mistake in Nationality column. Its written IND. It should say GBR. I know I should have checked each and every column carefully but I didn't.

Does anyone know what do I need to do?

Contact HCI. They will re-issue you a new OCI with the correct details.

I called the second number couple of days ago and was able to talk someone in less than 2 mins...I am sure they will not charge for this correction...but you may have to do couple of trips to HCI London :(

Does it really matter? Clearly, its a typo, do seek advise from HCI.

Went to HCI London today and they charged £10 to make an observation to correct the citizenship. Submitted at 12.30, collected by 5. Not too bad

Hi Vipul1981,
Do we need to fill any form to use an observation service? Can I use this service to correct the mother's middle name on my son oci card?

pls reply me soon bcaz I need to travel soon.
