Certified Copies of Passport

Hello Friends

I am planning to apply for my HSMP in the next 2 weeks. Could someone please tell me if I need to certify the passport xerox copies, if yes could you please tell me from where I can get this done. I am in the UK for the last 2 years.

notarized / certified copies are mandatory. photocopies of passport are no more valid. you can go to a notary/solicitor in your area.
they charge anywhere between 5-10 £ per page

I got mine certified at my local embassy in London which was also acceptable.
