HSBC bankers draft

Post by GD78 » Fri Mar 02, 2012 4:01 pm

I will be applying for ILR next week at Croydon PEO and am paying by a banker's draft. I got the draft today from HSBC and its handwritten. I queried this and they said all HSBC bank drafts are handwritten and accepted by the Home Office.

Is this normal? Are banker's drafts generally handwritten?

Perfectly normal. The one I got from HSBC looked like it had been completed by a 5 year old child.

Thanks for the reassurance...I thought bank drafts were usually printed or something.

Quick question...do I have to put down the bankers' draft details on the payment form (i.e. where it asks for cheque details)?

make sure you use the account number/sort code etc from the draft (i.e. it's not your acc no./sort code.

£20 for the banker's draft and was accepted at the Home Office without a problem.

I would say no, but it doesn't matter as the person at the payment window can make corrections as necessary.
