UK Tourist Visa from Ireland (Recently moved to) Spouse financial docs

Post by coderplusplus » Sun Oct 02, 2022 12:19 pm

Asking on behalf of a friend.
"
Me and my wife moved to from India to Ireland 3 months ago, and we are applying for UK visa from Ireland.

I have employment here so I can show all financial and employment proofs for myself (of last 3 months), but my wife don't have a job yet in Ireland so don't have a bank balance to show here. But she has savings in the Indian bank account, so is it okay to show Indian bank account as a financial proof ? Or because we are applying from Ireland, we need to show some Irish bank account only?

Also while filling the form, in my form, there was an option that is there any dependent, so I filled my wife's details in it, but in my wife's form, there was no field like "you are dependent on :" so she selected option of "I have savings" and considering showing Indian bank account as a proof.

If Irish bank account is required, is it okay that I load some amount in her Irish bank account, and show it as financial proof? Asking because I read on UK gov site that funds should have been accumulated over time and there should not be funds coming from somebody else.
"

Thanks.

Her Indian bank account should be fine. If you have sufficient funds in your account, then you can cover for the pair of you regardless.

Asking because I read on UK gov site that funds should have been accumulated over time and there should not be funds coming from somebody else. Yep, it would be looked at as sudden money and would require a lot of explaining.

So do you means my Irish bank statement can be added in wife's documents as proof of funds? (along with her Indian bank account statement).

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, you're free to sponsor your wife. Your wife is your partner in everything. Kinda what is yours is hers.
