US Tourist visa with criminal conviction

Post by blair29 » Wed Jul 01, 2009 1:39 am

Hi,

Im currently planning a holiday to the US and I am aware that I will require a visa to do so.

My problem is I have a fraud conviction from 2006 it was my first offence and I was given a £100 fine.

My question is will this be covered under the petty offences legislation?

Also the petty offences clause refers to a maximum sentence of 1 year. Does that refer to the maximum sentence under US law or the maximum sentence where the trial was held?

Thanks

Blair
