Transit/ Schengen viss requirement at Madrid

Hi....

I am aged 16, nationality Indian, residing in Dubai with residence permit, is travelling to Peru via Madrid. Stupid is not confirming whether they can do baggage through tag and there is a possibility that baggage through tag in not done. Flight schedules are as below:

1. Dubai to Peru
a) via Emirates Stupid arriving Madrid at 20:00 Hrs
b) leaving Madrid for Peru via Lan Stupid at 00:35 Hrs (calendar date changes)

2. Peru to Madrid
a) Arrives Madrid at 13:50
b) leaves Madrid at 22:00 same day

Do he needs a visa. If yes which visa Schengen or transit ?
