Transition???

Post by jilly cooper » Sat Jun 28, 2008 6:50 pm

Would anyone be able to tell me about this scenario.

If you leave voluntarily and you decide you want to go to another European country (say 3 months after you left voluntarily with all the forms and thingy where it says you overstay) would the embassy (say sweden or france or germany) be able to access these information?

Would they be sharing this kind of information as part of the EU?

Thanks in advance

Probably nobody knows, unless somebody's been at the wrong end of it or works in immigration

hi there
the same i have been trying to find an answer for for long time , as thats the plan B my partner I iscussed many times
the info i coul gther just from these forums and the inetrnet is the following
IS which the immigration officer issue on exit , means Information System and ther is a high possibility it is shared by all the EU country
saying that , i know someone who did pply for a visa to France and no mention of his overstay and no one found out so i don t think they have a very efficient database
i also read some articles that they are trying for years to create this monster database but still not done
an other thing when i posted my questions before some answers i had is , if your partner is english and lives for exemple in Sweden , they won t apply uk law on you but european law so your overstay will be irrelevant
they will be interested in your relationship and the ocuments which prove that you are genuine couple , have accommodation and income

In general the EU states do not share basic immigration data. Information regarding overstayers is not shared UNLESS there are other serious circumstances such serious criminal charges, involvment in trafficing, etc.
To be blunt there are too many other priorities, not enough immigration staff and certainly not the political will to push a joint data exchange at such a low level of offence.
