travel date or starting date in visa application form

Hi All

In the form VAF 9, its asking for a travel date. I believe this will be the visa starting date too. I looked for some answers but couldnt find any. May be I missed something.

Does anyone know how far out I can put the visa starting/travel date?

Travel date should be less than 3 months from the application filing date.

Example:

If Application Date is 14th Sept 2010 then Travel Date should be before 13th Dec 2010

Yes, the travel date will also be the visa start date and it can be no more than 90 days beyond your visa application date.

Once you have received the VISA you are able to enter UK any time during the validity of the VISA (your ILR clock will start from the day of your first entry though)

Count 90 days on your fingertips to be at safer side.

3 months calculation is little tricky with number of days per month.
Didn't hear 3months case, but 90 days is what guidelines say.

What would be the case with dependent applicants ?

If a Tier1 dependent visa holder enters UK late after visa issuance, I assume she/he would not have to get an extra extension provided they apply for ILR with the main Tier 1 holder.

Correct ?
