Post by ultimate12570 » Wed Mar 16, 2011 9:17 pm

Hi, My Fiance Applied for a travel document 4 months ago after receiving her Indefinite but we are still waiting, its been more than 14 weeks and when you call HO the only answer you expect that "it is under process...what can some one do if the HO takes more than 14 weeks to process an application and you need your passport to do some other stuff, which does not come under compassionate reasons, which are written on UKBA website in order to expedite your application process, we want to get marry but because my fiance doesn't have a passport we can't apply for COA without my fiance passport. we got stuck. can anyone tell us what to do???

On what basis did she apply for a travel document? Why couldn't she get a passport from her own embassy? What evidence did she provide about this?

According to the website they aim to make a decision within 70 working days in 98% of cases. Has it been 70 working days bearing in mind the bank holidays over xmas/new year?

hi Greenie, thanx for your reply. while we are waiting for my fiance Travel document /passport, can i apply COA along with her Indefinite Leave to remain Photocopy, does it work? i mean if we explain in a letter that we are unable to provide her Travel document /passport because it is under process and its been more than 14 weeks and we want to marry....and for that i need to apply COA as i am a Non-Eu, will that be okay..or shall we wait for her Travel document /passport????

You've waited 14 weeks now so you might as well wait a bit longer as it is likely she will get a decision on the travel document application soon. However if you need the CofA urgently then you may wish to try applying without her original document.

If you answer the other questions in my previous post then it is easier to advise.
