Travel to UK while Certificate of Sponsorship is live?

Post by leonscott » Fri Dec 02, 2011 1:52 pm

I have just received my approved certificate of sponsorship, however before I make my formal application to UKBA in Hong Kong I would like to travel to the UK for approx 2 weeks.

Am I able to enter the UK while my CoS is "live" but before making the formal application? Am I able to attend business meetings/conference while I am there?

I am a New Zealand Citizen.

When I return to Hong Kong after the trip I will make the formal application (within 3 months of CoS issuance date).

Thanks!
Leon

COS is the first step in gaining permission to enter uk....

if you can enter uk via other means, without utilizing COS....then it will not be considered 'used'

only when you make a formal app...or its expired... is when its considered as 'used'

Under normal entry circumstances I would be allowed to stay in the UK for up to 6 months, and be able to attend business activities such as meetings, conference etc.

My question is, does this change after I have a CoS approved, but before I have formally applied for a visa in Hong Kong?

Thanks for your help
