Traveling abroad and returning on a Family Permit Visa

Post by Patience » Thu Oct 09, 2008 3:21 pm

I am on a six months Multiple Entry Family Permit issued by an ECO in a foreign embassy.I am in the UK.I plan to make an application for EEA2 without our passports.(certified copies). We intend to keep them for travel purposes.(work and leisure) and only send them to the HO on request.(When our file gets into the queue for deliberation)

The problem is what happens if the 6 months Family Permit expires out of the country during one of my travels.I am allowed to work according to the Law and my job involves traveling in and out.

Will I face problems on port of entry UK etc?

You may apply for another EEA family permit or try to enter under 11(4).

Thanks Vinny.I already applied and got an EEA Family Permit. That is what I am using.

However an EEA2 application may take up to six months. So I will not be sending my passport with the application.I will send certified copies and keep the original for travel and work.

Within the time my EEA2 application is considered I intend to travel.

Even though my EEA Family Permit of 6 months may have expired before entry I believe a Marriage Certificate and Certificate of Application(EEA2) will be enough for admission.

I cannot be bothered applying for a Family Permit again when I must have already lodged an EEA2 application in the UK.

What do you think?

If you try to enter the UK without an EEA FP under article 11, you surely will be admitted, the problem will be convincing the airline, any airline, to let you board. Read these discussions:
