Traveling On Work Assignments with Tier1

This is my first post. I got my Tier 1 (Gen) in Nov 2010. I am currently employed in London.

If I have to leave the country on a work assignment for about 8 Months. How will this effect my PR application in the future (Essentially after completing the 2nd extension of Tier 1 Gen).

Do I need to inform the UKBA, and any catch here?

If you will be paid salary, Tax and NI deduction in UK and employer can issue a formal letter stating your absence in UK was due to work then it will not affect your PR.

Otherwise, Yes. You can not stay away from UK for more 90 days at a stretch and in total 180 days in 5 years.
