Travelling to or from the UK

Post by safeery2k » Fri Sep 13, 2024 12:17 pm

Hi,

My parents are on EU settlement visa and their current visa is expiring on 31st December 2024 but I've received email from Home Office that their visa will be extended automatically for 2 years once current visa is near to expire.

The situation we are facing now is my parents would like to travel but still haven't received the new Residence Permit card so not sure how they will be able to enter back to UK.

Any idea when they will receiving new Residence Permit?

Also do we need to switch to eVisa?

Their status should be accessible on the gov.uk website. BRPs are being phased out but I don't know if this also applies to BRCs (I imagine they do). If this is the case they won't get a new one, all immigration statuses are migrating to online only at the end of the year.
All advice comes from personal research and experience and should not be regarded as professional opinion.

THANKS.

I'm trying to link the account to evisa but the ID CHECK app is not scanning the BRC and says its not the right document. As per the below doc, they should have access to the evisa but the app doesn't allow to go through using BRC.

My parents are on EU SCHEME - PRE SETTLEMENT visa.
