EU treaty rights - how fast to get documents back

Post by thesmiler » Tue Jun 15, 2010 11:24 am

So my partner+me finally sent in EU treaty rights application last week, and I'm anxious to get my passport back as soon as possible as I want to attend some family events back home (I can't easily get a national ID card from my country without being a resident there, so I don't have any valid secondary ID anymore).

I remember that the EU Treaty Rights FAQ mentioned that they will return the documents after latest one months (and then you could get the Stamp 4, which is not anymore). This seems to be gone from the INIS website now, the only mention is that they will check and return documents "immediately".

Was there any legal grounds to the one-month deadline of receiving documents back or was this just a pledge by INIS? Can I still expect to receive my documents back within a month max or might it take longer? Does anyone have recent experiences how long it takes to get the passport back?

Hi

My partner and I submitted our application through our solicitor on 6th of May and received our docuements on the 25th May, although their letter was dated 21st of May. They also requested additional documents at this point, some of which we had already sent. We posted these on the 6th of June and still have not heard any reply.

Dont know if that helps. I'd say you should get them back within a month.

Thanks - that helps a lot.

I guess you received the documents back after 3 weeks without further follow-up ?

Received our documents back 19 days after posting them, but then were asked for other documents.

But we got originals back from the 1st lot we sent. A week before we received our documents back I posted on my new employment contract and the PRTB and we have yet to receive that back or the further documents they requested.
