Trouble obtaining photos

Post by grahamw » Wed Jun 03, 2009 3:05 pm

Hi, :D
We have been accepted for permenent residence in Canada and have done our medicals and everything else. We just need to send our passports and updated photos and info to the CHC in about 3 weeks. The problem is I am having trouble finding someone to do the immigration photos - the problem is they must be printed on single weight matte paper. No-one seems to be able to do this !!!!

Has anyone else encountered this or know what to do ... :?:

Any advice greatly appreciated ......

Thanks ....

I know someone who had all their immigration photos done at Snappy Snaps - they just gave the photographer the sheet from CIC. They didn't have a problem and now have their visas. Snappy Snaps are aware of immigration requirements.

SNAPPY SNAPS ARE AWARE OF IMMIGRATION PHOTO REQUIREMENTS

Post by ESCO » Sun Jun 07, 2009 1:19 pm

Hi,

Richter is correct. My sister just had hers done recently 4.5.09 @ Snappy Snaps (Woolich Branch), she just showed them the Canadian requirements and they did it for her.
Snappy snapps seem to be only ones aware of all immigration passport photo requirements.

Regards

I went into Snappy Snaps today and they were able to do them no problem. Thanks for your help.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the actual visas from the CHC after we've sent in our passports and immigration photos ... ? I'm due to send them my stuff about the 15th June (1month after our medicals) ...

2WKS In PERSON OR 6WKS ie 60 Working Days BY POST

Post by ESCO » Sun Jun 07, 2009 9:07 pm

Except if you are waiting for other things, you dont have to wait till the 15th to submit, as your medicals would be/has been submitted straight to CHC by the medical examiner.

After submission of your passport photo, your passport and the Update Information Chat you should be able to collect your passport with the visa

a) In 2WKS, from the thurs you submitted at the office (collection and submission is ONLY on Thurs between 2-3PM)

b) In 6WKS ie 30 working days, if you submit by post.

For me, I did my medical back in 5.01.09 and recieved a letter 07.04.09 to submit my passport photo, my passport and the Update Information Chat within 60days ie 07.07.09
Returned back to UK 31.05.09 to submit these the requested details.

Submitted my passport photo, my passport and the form directly to CHC London office on 05.06.09 and was told to come back 2 weeks from date of submission.

Due to go back and collect on 18.06.09 - 2 thursdays from initial submission date.
