I have received a lot of this in a week. One of which has been persistent in arranigng my douments with a 390.55GBP fee for work permit and visa application. If this is a fake, I think the amount they are asking for is too cheap for a scam. The cost of their persistent phone call is even more expensive than the fee.

Please keep in touch. Thank you.

MODERATOR ADVICE: THIS IS FRAUDULENT, DO NOT APPLY

A simple google search shows that Rathbone Hotel's website is http://www.rathbonehotel.com/ and if you visit this link, you will find their main contact details listed. They are the only ones who can verify this information I think.

'Work permits' no longer exist for new applicants.

I struggle to see how some of the jobs here would meet the requirements for a tier 2 visa, e.g. receptionist, cashier, cleaner, door person, bartender, room attendant

In a lot of these scams, they may ask for an initial amount up front which to you seems like a small amount, but they then ask for further money. How do you know how much they are paying for a phone call? If they are sophisticated scammers they will have a scam going on this as well, or else, a cheap phone card.

The golden rule is, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I agree with ScopeD, call the hotel, and ask them if they have these vacancies and they are currently trying to recruit overseas for them AND whether they would sponsor a worker under Tier 2.

Note also an example email address for the actual hotel according to their website is frontoffice@rathbonehotel.com - note that the email address in the OP's post is rathbonehotel2011@london.com

definitely a scam.

Well said Greenie. Usually one or two logical questions will lift the deceitful veil for you. To me, what jumped out straight away was the email address used in the scam email. My first insticts were to check out the Rathbone's contact details direct from their official website. You know the kind of work you would do if you were researching on a potential employer... Just that one small detail reveals the whole rotten structure for you...usually
