Two references for citizenship application

Post by rommy » Sat Apr 11, 2026 12:24 am

Hello everyone,

For my citizenship application I am using one of my friend/neighbour as my professional reference as she is a doctor. Would that be acceptable?

For my 2nd referee, I am planning to use Uncle of the same friend. But I have just realized that the two referee cannot be related to each other. I am not sure about home office definition of related. Can I use my friend's uncle as my 2nd reference(he is a british citizen)?

Other option would be another family friend. But they live in a differnt city and getting a hard signature on the form will be difficult. Could I use digital signature instead?

Thank you for your guidance.

You can use a digital signature. Not sure a doctor counts as a recognised profession.
All advice comes from personal research and experience and should not be regarded as professional opinion.
