Typo in one of my employment certificates.

I filed my application in May 2006, at the time when full/complete documents were sent. After sending I realised their was a date typo on my previous employment certificate (Year of employment start was errorly entered as current year - like 15th June 2006 - 15th March 2006).

However my application states the correct dates (15th June 2001 - 15th March 2006). How can I clarify this to the immigration office? Should I send a new ammended letter to update my file and with what explaination? kindly help.
