UK Medical Treatment

Post by thetruthisoutthere » Tue Mar 11, 2025 7:19 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of updating my Skilled Worker visa due to a change of employer, and I came across the following questions in the application:
  • "Did you receive medical treatment in the UK?"
  • "Were you told that you had to pay the hospital, clinic or doctor's surgery for your medical treatment?"
I have had two instances of medical treatment in the UK:

1. A general GP consultation for a chronic cough – No fee was charged.

2. A couple of fillings at my NHS dentist – I paid the appropriate charges under the standard NHS bands.
When answering the second question, should I select "yes" since I paid for the dental treatment, or "no" because my GP visit was free?

Would appreciate any insights from those who have filled out this form before. Thanks!

You are over-thinking this. They are not interested in your medical history, but in whether you have any unpaid debts to the NHS for medical treatment, which is a general ground for refusal.

Someone who has paid the IHS for their previous application(s), would not have a debt to the NHS.

Just say Yes and give the details.
