UK SKILLED VISA GRANTED ONLY FOR 2 WEEKS

Post by Jackhenry0707 » Mon Jan 20, 2025 1:48 pm

Hi, I recently applied for a Skilled Worker visa, which is genuinely sponsored by my employer with whom I’ve been working for the past two years on a Graduate visa.

I received an email last week confirming that my application was successful, but I was granted only 14 days on my visa, even though I applied for 3 years and paid the corresponding fees. My Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) end date is listed as September 2028.

Has anyone else faced a similar issue? What could be the reason for this discrepancy? I’ve applied for an admin review, but the current waiting time is six months. I need to travel next month for my wedding and also need to submit my fiancé's dependent visa application. My situation is now very unclear, and I’m unsure of what to do next. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you leave the UK, your admin review is automatically withdrawn and Section 3C leave automatically lapses and you will need to apply for a fresh entry clearance visa from abroad. Keep that in mind before leaving the UK.
Administrative review caseworker guidance wrote:Travelling outside the UK
An administrative review application which may only be brought from within the UK and which is pending will also be treated as withdrawn if the applicant leaves the UK. The date the withdrawal takes effect is the date on which the applicant leaves.

Section 3C leave will also end on this date. You may find out that an applicant has left the UK if for example:

they notify you of a new overseas address
a Border Force officer stops them when they attempt to re-enter the UK and contacts you to ask about the applicant’s immigration status
An applicant who has withdrawn their application for administrative review by leaving the UK must not be allowed to re-enter for the purpose of resuming the administrative review.
