Changing employer during visa renewal

Has anyone switched employers while visa renewal is ongoing? It's been more than 10 weeks since my biometric appointment and I really need help with the below to plan.

1) Does my visa renewal and new BRP need to come through first before the new employer can start the CoS and visa application process from their side?

2) Do people tender their resignation only after obtaining a new visa from their new employer?

Its advisable to tender resignation after obtaining a new visa from the new employer. Severe delays are found in Visa processing in recent days and employers need BRP to verify your right to work in UK.

Some employers accounts you into their system while decision is yet to be made basis the COS and to the fact the decision is pending with UKVI. You should be lucky in that front. My employer does not.
