Query Regarding Dependent Visa for My Spouse and Child

Post by deepeshagrawal » Wed Sep 06, 2023 1:25 pm

I was made redundant by my previous employer. This employer had initially provided us with Skilled Worker visas, including dependent visas for my spouse and child. The current expiry date of these visas is June 2025, and my wife is currently employed under her dependent visa.

Subsequently, I secured a new job and obtained a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), leading to the issuance of a new Skilled Worker Visa and Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) for me.

My inquiry pertains to whether I need to apply for new dependent visas for my spouse and child in this scenario or if they can continue, including working, under the existing dependent visas.

Thanks, I have called the Home Office many times to ask this question but I am getting different answers from them. One agent said, my dependents can continue on the current (old) BRP but another agent said, they will need to apply for new Visa. Is there an official link to confirm this?

The call centre is NOT Home Office staff. It is a third party agency. Tbey are not immigtation advisors and are generally poorly trained.

Your spouse has a dependent visa that is valid. Why is her employer faffing about with this?

Your spouse can generate a right to work share code using the below link and share with the employer. This should be enough to prove right to work.
