Skilled VISA delay IT error ?

Hello Folks,

I have applied for for skills visa ( change of employer ) in country priority application, However, 5 working days have already passed and the decision is delayed, upon checking with UKVI I got the below response

The case has been impacted by an IT error which has been escalated to our IT team to resolve, we are hoping to get this fixed as soon as possible so that the case can be considered.



Please extend our apologies for the delay and inconvenience caused’


Can anyone share what this means and who long does it takes to solve this kind of issues ?

Hi, how long have you been waiting for visa decision ?
I have got the same email. I have applied on 18-Aug within UK for employer switch with priority. 12 weeks gone and still waiting for decision.

I have applied since 18th Oct. Did you tried to follow up on it again on what was the IT error and if that IT error has been resolved?

My immigration lawyer contacted Home Office and they got another standard reply saying there is IT error. There was no additional details. I have called Home Office and they denied to give any updates on any individual case. My new company joining date was 23rd oct which I already missed due to this delay.

I am just worried now!! this has taken 12 weeks for you now and you are still waiting is there any other way to get decision early or reapply have you explored anything else ?

My Immigration lawyer and myself tried all possible route to explore - they contacted Home Office and they get the standard reply as IT error and no other details. I have personally called them up and they cannot share any individual case status - all they say is standard waiting time for In-Country skilled worker visa is 8 weeks and Home Office employee working hard to complete huge volume of cases. I have also raised a compliant, for which I have not got any reply yet.

I have done all I could do. The only thing I can do now is patiently waiting for decision. Please let me know if you find any better ways or get any information on your application.

have you tried putting a variation to application ? this is something suggested by one of friend
