T2 Dependent Visa extension when main applicant has ILR

Post by ryantam626 » Mon Jan 09, 2023 10:56 am

Hi,

My partner applied for a tier 2 dependent visa extension on 27 Oct 2022 while I already have obtained my ILR in June 2022, since she still does not qualify for an ILR herself.

She still hasn't recieved any updates regarding her application as of yet. She was only sent an email that asked for evidence which she promptly uploaded, and there was no email asking her to attend any biometric collection or any other sort of appointment.

How can we get an update regarding the application and potentially expedite the process? We would like to travel aboard at the end of Feburary - as far as I know it's not advisable to travel with a pending T2 depedent visa application.

Thanks!

Did she not book a biometric appointment after submitting online? Did she get an invitation to use the IDV app for biometrics?

What exactly did the email say that she received and where exactly did she send or upload the evidence?

Thanks for the quick reply!

> Did she not book a biometric appointment after submitting online?
After she submitted the application (or maybe shortly before actually submitting the application - I forgot which way around it is), she was taken to a page to pay the immigration health surcharge, which she did.
After she did this and eventually submitted the application, there is no option to book any biometric appointment, this will be clear with the screenshots later in the post.

> Did she get an invitation to use the IDV app for biometrics?
No, she did not.
The only app she used was UK Immigration: ID Check.

> What exactly did the email say that she received ...
Email can be seen here: Screenshot uploaded Google Drive

> ... and where exactly did she send or upload the evidence?
The evidence is uploaded on this page https://apply-to-visit-or-stay-in-the-u ... /dashboard
For any avoidance of doubt I will attach two screenshots here:
Screenshot 1
Screenshot 2

Only "Documents that show you are living together" were requested, we uploaded scans of joint bank statements, council tax bill and water bills which proves that.

If she used the IDV app and uploaded all required evidence, then nothing to but wait. Standard applications can take up to 6 months

Since she did not get an invitation to use the IDV app, is there something amiss then?

You have already stated and linked the app she used, which Is the IDV app!

Ah sorry about the confusion, I should have elborated more.

I thought by IDV app you meant UKVCAS IDV by Sopra Steria

instead of UK Immigration: ID Check by UK Visas and Immigration (/ Home Office)

The latter being the one she used.

Am I correct in thinking she has done everything she should if she had used any one of the above?
