Visa extension for partner and child

Hi
Please I have this situation,
My visa will expire in December of 2024.
My partner and my child’s visa expires in January of 2024.
I want to apply for extension for them.
My question is when to apply, do you recommend to apply now or before the expiry date,
As I don’t know if that will affect the surcharge fees as it is per year.
I mean which way will save me money?

The application can be submitted at any time before the expiry date.

Note that the application fees will increase next week from 4th October. It's not clear when the IHS increase will officially commence.
