work under a umbrella company

Post by roderick1975 » Fri Jul 05, 2019 3:23 pm

Hi
In the next months,Ii will start to apply for job offers in uk

I've seen many job offers under contract (no permanent)

Many of them offer contract under an umbrella company o employment agencies that use another friend company with sponsor tier 2 license to contract overseas workers

My question is .. that's legal?

No it is not. You are not permitted to work like this or contract on tier 2. It would be a breach of visa conditions.

On tier 2 you are only allowed to work directly for the sponsor on PAYE.

Thank you
what's the difference between a consultation company (PWC, KGMP, etc) and an agency?
The permanent role ?

You say me that any fixed term contract is illegal under a tier 2 visa?

PWC and KPMG are official Tier 2 Sponsors and you would work directly for them on their payrol. You are not 'contracted out' to other 'employers'.

I did not say that did I

The above is not permitted. You cannot do this.
