Entrepreneur Visa Questions

Post by tanveer2010 » Tue Sep 06, 2011 2:26 pm

Hi All,

A friend of mine has been advised to apply for Tier-1 Entrepreneur Visa, he has more then the required funds of 200,000 initial investment required to be eligible.

He has never been to the UK, so he don't have a bank account there, all his money is in his home country.

Questions we have :

a) He is married with a kid above 18 and one under 18, as far as I have read the guidelines, he cannot take his 18years daughter as a dependant, nor does his under 18 will get any educational discount as a home student if she studies at a UNI in England ? Are we right here or any suggestions?

b) Does he needs to open / transfer 200,000GBP to UK or he can transfer after the visa approval?

c) I have read on the forums that he doesn't needs to have a business plan to be able to apply, but he wishes to invest in a franchise or a posh restaurant over there in the UK - would this be ok or does he needs to have to start from scratch?

d) He is planning to put his SON (above 18) as a Entrepreneur, do they need to have 200K each or shared amongst them ? can he then bring his wife and under 18 daughter as a dependant to the UK ?

e) So, if he gets the visa and him and his son purchase a already runnin chain of restaurant or setup a new business - as per all legal guidelines and pay tax, employ local citizens - would this be ok for a extension ?

f) Can he purchase a Property, rent out the whole building with offices in it and come back to his home country, would that be eligible for an extension ?

My findings so far :

He can team up with his above 18 son as an enterpreneur, he cannot give IELTS but speaks OK english, his SON can and speaks fluent, so his will give IELTS, making him the main applicant - is this OK ?

He cannot bring any other above 18 children as dependant while he is in the UK on Entrepreneur Visa ? - Right ?

He or his children (under 18) won't be able to avail the local student FEE option at any University in the UK ?

is there any income limit or threshold that one has to achieve to be able to secure extension of Entrepreneur Visa ?

Will be grateful for your insight on this
Kind Regards

Thanks for reading ! Will be grateful for your help / assistance with information on this ...

There are a lot of very basic questions here and it's clear that you have not read the guidance which, given that you are acting on your friend's behalf, is the very least you should do. Otherwise you are of no help at all.

a. Yes you are right on both counts.
b. After you get the visa.
c. Does not need a business plan.
d. Yes.
e. No comment, you need to read the guidance.
f. No comment, you need to read the guidance.
