Lost National insurance number

Dear All,

My brotyher who is a director of thecompany is due to submit his applicatuion for extension, he forgot his national insurance number, as he applied for it in 2020 but he lost it now. he is not on the comopany payroll. his application due date is 9 February 2023. is there a method to solve that issue within teh available time frame?.
He is planning to have his biometrics after a month.

Contact hmrc or DWP.

They tols it will take 15 working days. is that a mandatory field in the application? couild not he say that he does not know it?
