Dear All,

I came here in London on 3rd of July. I am Software Developer with 5 years of experience. I applied online on diffrent sites and attended a huge load of calls from recruiters.

Attended many technical interviews in the same month, but screened out in HR interviews or by top mamangement giving very strange reasons.

Anyhow, I joined a very small organization in August in Birmingham. Salary is very very low. I am not happy at the moment.

My question is from the people who have already secured their jobs, can they please guide me what should I do? How should I apply to get genuin employers. Because if I apply now, a lot of recruiters start calling me during office time and I can not take so many calls while on work.

Any good suggestions ...

Regards,
Amer Bashir

Congrats AMIR,

You alteast secured a job, Market is not very good and this is the way one get a job in UK through recruiters. But amongst those recruiters, some of them are genuine. Why you did not come to london? Do you live in birmingham?

I personally think, applying for another job is full time job in UK. But as you mentioned your salary is very low, you should not worry about recieving lot of calls, Dont pick up their calls during your office timings, mention them you can only pick up the calls when it is lunch time or you can be available on internet.

You will get it then hopefully.

All the best.

Hi amirbashir & others...

I don't think market is that bad for software developers (no matter which tools & tech you use)..

I'm not sure about Midlands area though!

email me if anyone need to discuss anything.. I'll be more than happy to help if I could!

Some clarifications regarding EC

Post by loodk » Sat Oct 11, 2008 8:17 pm

Hi All,
After a long wait of 4 months i received my HSMP approval letter but to my bad luck i never maintained a GBP 2800 in my account for the last 3 months, i come to know this requirement just now. I am......silent as i cant do anything but to wait for further three months ......
I've been to UK two times last year, oficially and each time i filled up complete visa application on arriving at Gerry office of Lahore. That is why i never looked at EC documents this time and skipped the importance of GBP 2800. To avoid surprises in future i checked the Vaf9 document and requires the following info:
1. How many points for Attributes/English/Maintenance
Should i mention the same points when applied for HSMP? or as of now. Because of passing my birthday my age score will now decrease.

2. I am not applying for my wife, do i still require marriage certificate for EC application?

3. I never verified my engineering degree from NARIC, now i have the HSMP letter, still i need to verify my degree or not? To my surprise at ukba site my four years engg degree is not giving 10 points.

loodk:

1. You should mention exactly the same against which you got HSMP approval.

2. Yes. Mention that shall will be joining you latter.

3. No required.

Hi,

My friend send a review & appeal on the 2nd September to Islamabad. But initially he applied for EC from Karachi. As of now we didnt heard anything from High Commission. He tried to ring Khi consulate and they told to ring Gerry's. He is very confussed and I dont know also how things work in Pakistan. If any one has any idea how long it takes to get a respose for an Review or appeal. As of now we didnt heard anything from them.

Thanks

I am planning to apply in Jan, 2009. I have following questions please guide me:

1- I have passed IELTS with overall band score 6.5 but IELTS individual category score is not 6.5.

Speaking 6.5
Reading 6.0
Writing 6.0
Listening 6.5

Am I eligible to apply for Tier 1?

2- I have just deposited 2900 pounds in newly opened GBP foreign currency account and will apply after 3 months. i will maintain the balance of 2900 pounds during these 3 months. Will they accept it as proof for maintenance fund? Should i also show them the source of these savings? Should these savings from my salary or could be from any source?

3- I am a salaried employee and have just gotten annual bonus from my company. Will they accept bonus with salary as my previous earnings?

Your help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,

abdik1980:

1. Overall 6.5 is the requirement. Fine.

2. Source is not mendatory. The required balance should be maintained.

3. Annual bonus is accepted only if it is mentioned in the salary slip.

mna8:

As far as I know, for review it takes around 1 month. Whereas, appeals could take from 4 to 8 months time. Even after winning the appeal, it takes 3-4 months to get the visa (due to heavy work load at the BHC).

Thanks hina. As per my understanding I have to show them only two type of proof for both salary and bonus and these are Bank Statement & Salary Slips (* Bonus will be mentioned on Salary Slip for the related month)

Friends:

One thing more you told me that BHC accepts the bonus if it was mentioned on the salary slip. Let me explain you my case:

My company had deposited monthly salary of Aug in my bank account on 2nd sept. 2008 while performance based bonus was given to me on 23rd sept, 2008 and deposited on the same day in my bank account. In this case; should my company have to mention this bonus on my salary slip of Aug? Please note that both salary and bounus were deposited in my bank account separately. Please guide.

Appendix 1 for HSMP approval letter holders?

Post by kmunir » Wed Oct 15, 2008 7:52 pm

For HSMP approval letter holders, what do we have to fill in section 8 of the visa form appendix 1? We have been instructed to fill sections 7 and 8 if we have approval letters. But in section 8, do we have to fill in the points we claimed in our HSMP application or we should leave section 8 blank? Any thoughts from people who have already got successful entry clearance under transitional arrangements from pakistan?
