Reference number

Post by hsmppune » Tue Nov 13, 2007 11:18 am

Hi Bhumi,

That is really strange. I guess in my case even paying through DD it got cleared within 7 days. A CC should help expediting the payment process. :?

I think you should call again and specifically ask for a reference number.

However, note that sometimes they directly mail that a decision has been taken, and the reference number is quoted in this mail, there is no separate mail. :)

Good Luck with your decision.

Cheers

Hi Bhumi,

Please note that they never tell the decision in the email, only that "a decision has been taken on your application".

And recently they have stopped telling decisions on phone, so I am waiting for my documents to arrive to know the decision.

Hi Pavan,

My documents were despatched by MBE through UPS last evening. UPS tracking is not so good, so try to go for FedEx.

Will post the result as soon as I get the package.

Good luck for your decision.

Hi All,
I called up homeoffice yesterday and the guy i spoke to was kind enough to tell me that my application was sucessfull :D .However ,i will be a step cautious here  and till i see my docs myself on monday

Its all with the help of seniors on this forum that i could complete stage-1 without any consultant...

Thanks Again

HSMP approved!!!

Post by hsmppune » Sat Nov 17, 2007 6:12 pm

Hi Friends,

I received my documents and decision letter by courier today. My HSMP application has been approved!

Here are my timelines:

Application sent: 25th Oct
Application reached HO: 29th Oct
Payment through: Demand Draft
Payment Processing started: 30th Oct
Decision Taken: 7th November
Got ref. no and mail from Case Worker: 8th November

Although I went through a consultant, I would like to thank all the members of the forum for their invaluable guidance at various stages of the application.

Theres another piece of advice that I need from the forum now. In my approval letter the address mentioned has some spelling mistakes in my housing society name, and the location which I stay in. Would this create any problem in some part of the EC process? Can I request the Case Worker to reprint the letter with the correct spellings? Has someone else faced this problem, and can they share their experiences about how they went about resolving it?

I have a feedback to give about the MBE+UPS combination. MBE is the best they do things right on time, but UPS sucks. There is absolutely no tracking of the package to go by.

I would suggest using the MBE+FedEx combination, if you want to track your package home.

Bhumi and Pavan congrats for your approval.

I found the answer to my query above in the guidance document:

"You or your representative may request
reprints of HSMP approval/refusal letters from us
to correct errors such as spelling mistakes, or
incorrect details such as mistyped names or dates
of birth
. Requests should be made in writing and
accompanied by the original permission letter.
Reprints will be marked ‘Duplicate’ and will be free
of charge once your written request and the
original permission letter have been received."

I am not sure if this includes spelling mistakes in the address, and it would be nice to hear about any similar experiences from other members. I would specifically be interested in:

1) How much time does it usually take to get back the approval letter in this case?
2) Does HO take the responsibility of sending back the letter, as in the case of initial application?
3) Any other aspect worth noting in this regard.

I am little scared to let go of the approval letter. What if I do not get the revised copy in time for the EC application?

Senior members please comment.

Thanks and Regards
hsmppune

Got HSMP Queries on EC

Post by merahsmp » Mon Nov 19, 2007 2:03 pm

Hi,

I got my HSMP and now I am ready to get EC done. Thanks to all forum members in helping.

I am currently in UK on a business visa and have following queries?

1. Is it possible to get FLR done if I am on a business visit?
2. If not then how much time does it take to get EC done in India?
3. Are there different experiences at different centers?
4. I have some GBP in my current travel card, can I use the statement of travel card to show that I have funds to support my self?
5. If I have a UK job in hand (offer letter) then do I still need to show huge amount in bank balance?

Regards,
Mera HSMP
