Guys:

No change in status today either. Just wanted to answer someone elses comment about all payslips being within UK. Mine is the same case, but its not made any appreciable difference, so it is just a draw of luck, I guess.

Hi Abhishek,

I just printed the the covering letter for maintenance fund. Mine is straight forward as I had enough funds in my bank account.

For your case, you need to modify and explain about funds....

Hi Abhishek,

If your degree is awarded in grades then select the appropriate grade or if it is awarded in percentage write below/above 80 % ( this is as per the self assessment tool ).

Anyway, I don't think you need to bother too much about this one.

Need your help members regd tier1 Visa from india

Post by shubi81 » Sun Apr 06, 2008 9:40 am

Hi ,
I am planning to submit the Tier1(general) Highly skilled workers(replacement of HSMP) from within India in end of April. I would really appreciate , if someone of you could answer my qusetions . I have gone thru the BIA website & am kind of confused regd certain things .

1)Shall I send the application forms with evidence to the BIA office in Sheffield,UK OR to VFS India ?
2)Shall I have to give my original passport (& my dependants also) ?
3)Is there a one time fee of GBP 600 OR I have to again pay at the time of getting EC from local British embassy in india ? So, is there a 2 step process of Initial approval & then EC ?? OR its replaced with a 1 step process ??
4) somewhere its written that , if I send the dependants application along with mine, it'll be treated free of charge , but in other places I found , dependants application will incur the same cost of GBP 600 ??

5) Last but not the least , is IELTS mandatory in the new Tier1 system ??

Thanks in advance guys !! I wish everyone become successful .

Cheers
Shubi

Hi irf_bar:
It's possible, but not necessary, for example, Ayleee got his case approved. Or there is another possibility that caseworks were just lying to all of us, trying to hang up on us as soon as possible.

Anyway best wish to your application and to ALL!

I call HO just now and they are unable to give me any proper info about my application. The only answer i got from them is my application is under consideration. Rather than this, they are failing to give me any furhter more info regarding my application.

Any how i will call them may be after two days.

Mean while if any body got/ here any info from HO (etheir by call or by letter) please share with us. It helps a lot for other members in this thread.

Hi irf_bar:

I've just called HO again this morning and this time they say my case has definitely not been assigned to caseworker YET. My case is still waiting in the system with the list of documents that they have received.

It sounds true this time that they are telling the truth. And Asiar08's case confirmed that as well.

It seems we are gonna have to wait for a while...

What number are you guys calling? I tried the number 0114 207 4074, Option 1 (Tier 1) and waited and waited for 5 mins with the phone ringing twice this morning. No one seems to pickup. Do you have another number?

Hi Ashraya:

0114 207 4074 is the number I was calling and option 1 for Tier 1. But sometimes you have to try many times ,wait over 5mins to get somebody pick up the phone.

So just keep trying this, you were doing right.
Please update this thread after you talk with HO.

Best regards to you application and to ALL!

Hi irf_bar:

Thanks for sharing the information, but I think Tier1 started on 29 February 2008. How come HO is processing application of 19 of Feb??

Are you sure you were not checking a thread about old HSMP application instead of Tier 1? Could you please share the URL address of that thread that you were checking?
