Ashraya,

No way the HSMP documents are sent by Parcelforce. They always send the docs by Royal Mail.

Hi All,

I have a very imp and urgent doubt. Can somebody please clear it. I am claiming my previous earnings for the period of Mar 2007 to Feb 2008 with my Indian salary. But I was in UK in the month of Aug 2007 and so I am excluding this months salary.

So is it ok as I am not actually showing a continuous salary of 12 months.

Please suggest.

I am also copying my cover letter below. Please suggest if its ok or shall do some changes to it.

Wold appreciate if you can please help me out.

Thanks
Abhishek

Dated: 15th April 2008

To,
The Immigration Officer
Tier 1 (General)

Dear Sir/Madam,

Sub: Cover letter for Previous Earnings Section.

I Abhishek Agrawal currently works in XXX Limited as Senior Consultant. I have claimed 40 points in the previous earnings section for salary earned by me from my current employer, XXXX, India. My claim period is from March 2007 to February 2008(12 months).

During July / August 2007, I was in UK on deputation for 28 days (29th July 2007 to 25th Aug 2007). During this period, I got my Indian salary as well as living allowance in UK. I would like to exclude this period for calculating points for my previous earnings for the ease of the Assessing Officer and save the hassles of considering multiple periods with various multiplying factors.

As per the tier1genpolicyguide document available on Border and Immigration Agency website, I have provided two required evidences. I request you to kindly consider the evidences provided by me and grant me the points I claimed for.

Required Evidences

1) Salary Slips

I get monthly salary slips as a PDF file. I’ve taken their prints, got them signed and stamped by Finance Department. I am claiming my monthly gross salary that includes monetary benefits like Medical, Meal Coupons, incentives and Consolidated Allowance for your kind consideration. Also the account number is mentioned on the pay slips. Please find the 12 salary slips (March 2007 – February 2008) as enclosed.

Total Gross Salary as in pay slips (excluding salary of August 2007) – INR XXX.27
As per www.oanda.com Currency Converter, Mid-market rates as of 2008-Feb-29 is
1 INR = .01265 GBP
INR XXX.27 = GBP XXX
As per uplift calculator available on agency website,
total earnings= GBP XXX

I have attached the excel sheet with details of my gross and net earnings in the format available on the Border and Immigration Agency website.

Also I have provided a printout of currency conversion table (29/02/08) of http://www.oanda.com

Employer details: (Please quote my employee ID – 1111 for any enquiry)

Senior Manager - HR Payroll – Department
XXXX Limited
- , India
Phone: +91 _______ (Please ask for payroll department)

2) Bank Account Statement

I have included my account statement where my company deposits my salary. This statement covers the full 12 months of my claim period (i.e. from 1st March 2007 to 29th February 2008). I have mentioned dates of my salary deposit entries in my statement corresponding to the Net Salary on my pay slips in the attached excel sheet. Please note that Net salary is credited to the bank account only after deducting Income tax, profession tax, security deposit advance, PF etc… from the gross salary.

Net salary credited to ABN Amro bank account (no. XXX) = INR YYYY
Gross deductions for the period as in pay slips = INR ZZZZ
Gross Salary =INR (AA+ XXX.27) = INR XXXX.27 = GBP XXXX
As per uplift calculator available on agency website,
total earnings= GBP XXXX

Abhishek,

I guess you can submit the payslip of August'07 and ignore the allowances that you received in UK. In that case, you will have continuous 12 months payslips.

Hi Kumar,

Thanks for the reply. But I beleive if you are ot in the same country where you are being paid the salary, you can't claim points for that.

What others think.

According to HO, you need to show your PREVIOUS EARNINGS for 12 consecutive months!! So including Aug 2007 would be correct as this is part of your income.

Also, you income can be from multiple sources. In your case, India and UK. So I think there is no harm in including your UK salary/allowance as long as you submit bank statements to support your income /salary.

Question reg payslips

Post by carpra » Thu Apr 10, 2008 12:41 pm

I have submitted my 12 month indian payslips converted to pounds and using the uplift ratio(5.3). I am working in the UK, i have not included my UK allowance slips in the application because i thought my Indian payslips are good to cover the points.

In my case is it wrong to use the uplift factor, because i am actually in UK eventhough my salary was paid back in india ?

Can some one advise

Thanks

Hi carpra,

My understnding is that you can not use uplift factor if you are staying in UK even though your salary is being paid in india.

Carpra,

One of my friends application got rejected because he used the uplift for his Indian salary although he is residing in UK. Your place of residence determines your uplift ratio.

Post by Tier1_Queries » Thu Apr 10, 2008 6:28 pm

Hi Urgent,

Thanks for your clarification.

All the best on your application.

urgent wrote:Hi Tier1_Queries,

My answers for your queries are as follows...

Ans 1:As I know you don't need to submit your marksheets if u can submit your original degree award. Please verify that on the self assessment tool and print the output and attach with the application.

If you can get a letter from the NARIC certified that your degree is equalent UK degree, that will make the case more stronger. But i think it is not mandatory. Incase if you are submitting original degree and also a letter from the NARIC please prepare covering letter to reflect all these.( As some lazy incompetent case workers don't verify everything until unless you spoon feed them ..;-)...

Ans 2: Regarding Maintenance funds u need to be more careful, as it is one of the mandatory requirement. you are saying you withdrawn the money from your savings account and deposited in the current account...then submit all the bank statements( savings and current) with your application and explain everything in the maitenance covering letter...so that it will help the case worker to understand your case.....

As I know maintenance funds is very important if you apply EC from India and i don't think its a problem as it is in country application....but be cautious and prepare a good covering letter...

All the best,

Tier1_Queries wrote:Hello Tier1 Aspirants,

Its really nice to be here in the Immigration Board forum to share our ideas.

Ayleee.. Congrats on sucessful application of Tier1. I think you should be
one of the early birds to get Tier1 Visa. Others, wish you all the best.

I have 2 queries in my mind :

1) I could find reference to mark sheets being submited though original
degree has been sent along with the application. Are Marksheets
mandatory to be submited?

I hold a Bachelors degree and to be on the safer side i wish to submit
the letter of comparability by NARIC as well for claiming qualification points.

2) In order to show the maintenance of funds i recently took money
from an savings account (maintained in the UK) and put it in my
current account.

Now, my worry is, will there be any rejections by the visa officer stating
that there has been recently surplus influx of funds. ( I have read similar such visa rejections in another thread posted in this forum)

If this is the case, how about going forward in convincing the visa officer
about the proof of maintenance of funds.

Please Clarify.
:) :)

:) :)

shivaa,

Documents: application form, approved HSMP letter, no covering letter, ISA statements, photos, passports, birth certificate and marriage certificate.

As I had obtained the HSMP approval letter so no need to prove english language. For saving I had shown them £1.5m which is more than enough however I didn't have time to open another account just to show them £800.

Congratulation th!
Can you share the details of documents that you have provided for previous earning ,english language section, dependants application. Also how much amount you showed in your account..
thanks and regards,
