Exchange Rate

Post by abhishekagrawal79 » Fri Apr 11, 2008 8:31 am

Hi All,

I am using www.Oanda.com for exchange rate as per home office guideline document. Which should I use. Interbank rate or Typical credit card rate or Typical cash rate.

Appreciate you all for the help.

Thanks

Hi Carpra,

I would suggest you to go through the earlier posts that are in this thread.

I am quoting the suggestions given by Aylee and Urgent, when GobOOst wanted to send his IELTS Form. See if these suggestions help your case.

***********************
Hello Gob00st

even though the online calculator says that uk masters degree is valid , but i would call the home office and tell them that i want to fax my Ielts result , they would then probably give you the direct fax number of the case worker , my friend applied for HSMP and he was succesful in doing this, they gave him the fax number and name of his caseworker , he then faxed his ielts result to the case worker.

do this , just to be on the safe side
regards
Ayleee.

***********************************

Hi GobOOst,

U can fax it after getting the case workers fax number.
You can also send a change in circumstances form by specifying that you are submiting an extra form for English language requirement.
see the link below...
http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/workin ... ancesform/

Regards,
Urgent

Re: Are Mark Sheets to be submitted Mandatory ?

Post by Tier1_Queries » Fri Apr 11, 2008 2:16 pm

Hi Shiva,

It is definitely going to help many who did not have plans to maintain
sufficient funds in the UK, that is the reason BIA has come up with this
transitional arrangements which is a welcoming note.

Best Regards,

shivaa wrote:Hi urgent and tier1 _queries!
As you know that they(bia) made transitional arrangements especially for maintenance funds.even they themself explained that is difficult to produce in very short notice. Then is it the big deal ?please explain.

Thanks for your clarification.

All the best on your application.

urgent wrote:Hi Tier1_Queries,

My answers for your queries are as follows...

Ans 1:As I know you don't need to submit your marksheets if u can submit your original degree award. Please verify that on the self assessment tool and print the output and attach with the application.

If you can get a letter from the NARIC certified that your degree is equalent UK degree, that will make the case more stronger. But i think it is not mandatory. Incase if you are submitting original degree and also a letter from the NARIC please prepare covering letter to reflect all these.( As some lazy incompetent case workers don't verify everything until unless you spoon feed them ..;-)...

Ans 2: Regarding Maintenance funds u need to be more careful, as it is one of the mandatory requirement. you are saying you withdrawn the money from your savings account and deposited in the current account...then submit all the bank statements( savings and current) with your application and explain everything in the maitenance covering letter...so that it will help the case worker to understand your case.....

As I know maintenance funds is very important if you apply EC from India and i don't think its a problem as it is in country application....but be cautious and prepare a good covering letter...

All the best,

Tier1_Queries wrote:Hello Tier1 Aspirants,

Its really nice to be here in the Immigration Board forum to share our ideas.

Ayleee.. Congrats on sucessful application of Tier1. I think you should be
one of the early birds to get Tier1 Visa. Others, wish you all the best.

I have 2 queries in my mind :

1) I could find reference to mark sheets being submited though original
degree has been sent along with the application. Are Marksheets
mandatory to be submited?

I hold a Bachelors degree and to be on the safer side i wish to submit
the letter of comparability by NARIC as well for claiming qualification points.

2) In order to show the maintenance of funds i recently took money
from an savings account (maintained in the UK) and put it in my
current account.

Now, my worry is, will there be any rejections by the visa officer stating
that there has been recently surplus influx of funds. ( I have read similar such visa rejections in another thread posted in this forum)

If this is the case, how about going forward in convincing the visa officer
about the proof of maintenance of funds.

Please Clarify.
:) :)

Hi carpra. I too am exactly in the same situation. I called up the customer care, and was told that it is OK to use the multiplier for the indian salary. BTW, who told you that we shouldn't use a multiplier, if we are not in the same country in which the earnings are made? Is that a rule for HSMP applications?

Congratulations to everyone who have already been approved!!!!!

I have some enquiries here:

If my previous earing in previous 12 months is less than 16,000 and I don't want to claim any points in this section, do I still have to prepare documents, e.g. payslip, bank statement etc.?

I am a student, in this case do I need a letter to prove this for the previous earning section?

May I just leave the whole area blank and without any supportive document?

Thanks

Sounds like you are the lucky one who is 27-year old or younger with a UK PhD. If you have 75 points then I don't think you need to necessarily claim points from the salary section. However you may want to make sure you have the required maintenance proof for the 10 points, even though without proving your salary.

Hi Raja,

Once its is approved the Home office will send it by recorded delivery....u don't need to send any pre paid envelop.

So, just wait for your documents...u may also call home office for any status..

If you are not claiming points for any category including earnings....then u don't need to produce any proof...that means u don't need pay slips....bank statements...if you are not claiming points for earnings

1. Is this rule for HSMP applications also applicable to Tier 1 Apps? Remember we don't have any bands or stuff like that in Tier 1.

2. What can we, at the moment, do to rectify this mistake in our app? I was clearly told by the customer care that we can't change the points claimed in any section, after the app has been submitted.

3. What date did you submit your app? Pls keep the forum updated with the updates.
Thanks..

Just spoke to HO to Ask for my status. The Person on the phone took my details (Reference Number, Name, and DOB) and checked on it. Initially, She said that they do not provide status checks for Tier-1 applications. I inisisted saying that I have a requirement to travel later this month, and I would like to understand if I need to send out an Urgent treatment form or not. After that, she put me on hold, and checked. She told me that its nearly been done, and will be despatched today or tomorrow, but would not tell me if the case was approved or not, as they are not supposed to inform the same over the phone.

I have half a feeling its been rejected, since on approval they did give out status to HSMPAspirant before.

Well, Guys, just keeping this thread updated.

Hi

I am in work permit now and i have a question on the dependant visa.

My spouse is in India and has a valid dependant visa issued for my work permit. I have applied for Tier 1 her in UK and awaiting the approval.

My question here is if my wife travels to Uk on the dependant visa issues for my work permit, can she successfully change to Tier 1 dependant after coming into UK ?

Another question When the dependant visa is issued for 12 months and if the base work permit is cancelled to revoked, what is the status of the dependant visa ? Does it become invalid as well?

Please advise me

Re: Tier 1 Dependant

Post by shivaa » Mon Apr 14, 2008 12:16 pm

Hi ,
Didyou apply only for you or with your dependants? If so,
Did you send your wife's passport along with the application?

I am in work permit now and i have a question on the dependant visa.

My spouse is in India and has a valid dependant visa issued for my work permit. I have applied for Tier 1 her in UK and awaiting the approval.

My question here is if my wife travels to Uk on the dependant visa issues for my work permit, can she successfully change to Tier 1 dependant after coming into UK ?

Another question When the dependant visa is issued for 12 months and if the base work permit is cancelled to revoked, what is the status of the dependant visa ? Does it become invalid as well?

Please advise me
